National Center for Competency Testing is an independent, third party organization that certifies healthcare professionals, medical assistants and instructors. NCCT provides various paths for getting certified and qualified in areas such as Medical Assistants, Medical Office Assistants, Phlebotomy Technicians, Insurance and Coding Specialist, Patient Care Technicians, Postsecondary Instructors, ECG Technicians and Surgical Technologists. Since 1989, NCCT has certified close to 350,000 medical professionals. Professionals get Nationally Certified through NCCT. NCCT was primarily established to evade allegiance to a specific association or organization. There are many other organizations that provide a automatic lifetime certification to medical professionals but NCCT does not do that. Annual Recertification is a process which is not optional if a professional wants to be certified year after year.
